do you think we ever stop asking ourselves this question?

i found an ad for harajuku lovers fragrance in the latimes sunday paper this past weekend while stephen and i were looking for BOGO coupons to his new favorite dining establishment, soup plantation. haha. anyway, i took a whiff and was instantly reminded of the asian coconut erasers from my childhood. i used to be so obsessed with that smell i'd erase nothing just to smell it. haha. there's actually 5 different fragrances, but i think this is the one that got me all excited. still debating whether i want to weat that scent around, but i ordered myself a free sample :)

doesn't feel like it's been a week since i last posted, but it looks like i went on a marathon posting session last tuesday and burned out, haha. this past week has flown by as this one is in the process of doing so, but before it gets too far into history, j/wanted to record some of the weekend.
for v-day, stephen and i agreed to stay away from the commercial and not purchase any gifts for each other. if we were going to spend money, it had to be as part of something we were making, so we had to be creative. so... stephen surprised me on a v-day by planning a whole dinner menu around wasabi. i LOVE wasabi. i love it until it pierces my sinuses and draws tears from my eyes. haha. that sounds really disturbing, but that is how much i love it, so i was pretty jazzed about the dinner: wasabi guacamole (for a snack while we cooked the rest of the meal), wasabi cucumber salad, wasabi seared tuna, wasabi mashed potatoes, and get this: wasabi tiramisu! honestly, as the cooking progressed, we were both a bit apprehensive about how much wasabi was actually going into it, but it was absolutely delicious! he also bought my favorite chateau ste. michelle riesling as a wonderful pairing with dinner and turned it into a keepsake by wrapping it in pictures of us.
then on monday, christmas came again when he showed up at my apartment with flowers to turn that keepsake into a vase. definitely a gift that keeps on giving :) got all gussied up that night to watch the phantom of the opera with tickets he got me for christmas even though we knew there would be people there in jeans and hoodies. somehow, it's just more fun that way. 3rd row orchestra seats were perfect! actually seeing the expressions on the actors'/actresses' faces helped so much in actually following the story, the chandelier actually felt like it was crashing down on us, and the emotions are so much more real when you can actually feel the heat of the flames and smell the powder from the gunshots from the stage.
i really have to say that recently, my life really feels like it's been one perfect day after another. oh yea, i got stephen something for v-day too, but this post already has too much sap in it, so i'll spare everyone on that one. haha. share in the joy, peeps.
